Ghana
In 2009 we enacted our first outreach program which took us to Accra, Ghana where we travelled with a mobile recording studio and taught audio recording and built a DJ sound system to aid in the formation of Africana Outernational, an NGO created by, and for, the members of Africana Dance Ensemble (ADE). We chose to work with ADE because of their exceptional track record in service to the local community in Accra and for their vision of creating a sustainable village of peace. ADE focused on sustaining traditional Ghanaian culture while using their cultural roots to encourage local youth to be ambassadors of their heritage rather than fall into gangs and violence. Itinual contributed by funding Africana Soundz, a dj company created from members of ADE and created an apparel company to help with the beginning stages of Africana Outernational.

Peru
We spent two years traveling between Peru and Bolivia, where we organized a multi-faceted 13 day event. Located on one of Bolivia’s most valued archeological sights, La Isla Del Sol, Itinual members spent many months on location while getting to know the local communities and volunteering to help build a community center used for spiritual grounding.
Our crew also got to spend time during the event on a week long private journey led by local despacho shamans that took our volunteers to a different ceremonial sight each day while they participated in local customs.
